The Gold Coast is a golfers paradise with beautiful courses occupying much of our land. Surely we have to be close to having the most courses per square hectare. We spent consecutive weekends playing at the best golf courses on the Gold Coast and finally, with blistered palms, we present to you the Top 3 best golf courses on the Gold Coast. Our only prerequisite was that it needed to be a public golf course or one that accepts visitors.
1. Links Hope Island
Situated in the prestigious Hope Island precinct 20 minutes north of Surfers Paradise, this amazing course offers a a diverse experience with a perfect balance of bunkers, water and gradient. The well maintained fairways and greens at Links Hope Island should be applauded given the volatile Gold Coast weather. To top it all off, the club house features five star change room, bar and pro shop facilities.
2. The Glades Golf Course, Robina
Just off the Pacific Highway in Robina, 15 minutes inland from Broadbeach is this spectacular Greg Norman designed course. The main feature of his course is the steep bunkers that surround many of the greens. Practicing with the SW is a must prior to taking on The Glades. While any day is enjoyable at the Glades, try to stick to week days for a fully relaxed and enjoyable experience. We’re confident you’ll agree that this is comfortably one of the best golf courses on the Gold Coast.
3. Lakelands, Merrimac
A short drive in from the Pacific Highway at Merrimac, 10 minutes inland from Broadbeach, is Lakelands Golf Club. This is the first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in Australia. The unique undulating design of this course sets it apart from the rest. A good combination of bunkers and water, together with a consistent putting surface makes this one of our favourites. This is an extremely well maintained course. The drinks cart also makes frequent rounds.
