1. Tallebudgera Creek Inlet

Located on the southern side of Burleigh Headland is the very popular Tallebudgera Inlet. And while it can get busy on weekends, there’s plenty of room to share. Tallebudgera Inlet offers up plenty of sand and shallow water for kids on both the north and south sides of the bridge. The south side even has on-duty lifeguards during the busy season. There’s a car park on the ocean side of both the northern and southern side of the bridge. The water is crystal clear, with nothing but sand on the creek bed floor. This is easily the best family beach on the Gold Coast (and great for kids!).

2. Currumbin Creek Inlet

Separating Palm Beach and Currumbin Beach is the Currumbin Creek Inlet – another great Gold Coast beach for families with young children. Here is a magical mix of sand, shallow waters and sand bars for the kids to have a ball. You can generally park your car less than 50 metres from where you will lay down your towels. To top it all off, there is always a number of ice cream vans to help cool you down after lunch. Would you like a flake in that? Yes please!

3. The Spit, Seaworld Drive

If you’re looking for something a bit more secluded and less populated, look no further than The Spit for one of the best swimming spots on the Gold Coast. Follow Seaworld Drive as far north as you can up to the top of The Spit and then turn left. Follow this road for about 500 metres and you will have dozens of private little beaches all to yourself. This is an amazing beach for families with young children to watch the boats sail past, go for a beach walk, catch some yabbies and cool off in the water’s edge. It’s places like this that make us Coasters feel blessed and easily one of the best kid-friendly beaches on the Gold Coast.
